IGNITE: Grades 3-5
Interest in STEAM Careers and Beyond
Ignite is Adopt A Class' flagship career and life skills group mentoring program. Ignite empowers 3rd - 5th grade students to dive deep into STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) exploration, introducing students to industry-specific mentorship and fostering interest in STEAM careers and beyond.
how it works
Once a month, mentors and students explore STEAM skills and careers. Through hands-on, project-based activities such as engineering towers, designing commercials, developing shipping paths, and building bridges, students discover a wide variety career concepts. Every activity is intentionally linked to STEAM related careers within the mentors' industries.
WHY IT MATTERS
In 3rd - 5th grades, students will explore three, unique industries and related careers, expanding the students’ vision of what is possible for their futures. In addition to these valuable mentor sessions, Adopt A Class hosts career-connected field trips for 3rd-5th graders to industry related locations like the Cincinnati Observatory, Cincinnati Museum Center, and Newport Aquarium. This comprehensive approach ignites curiosity, builds critical thinking, and helps students develop a lifelong passion for learning and innovation.
