Launch : Grades 6-8

Pathways to Career Success

Launch is our culminating program for 6th- 8th grade students, providing continued industry-specific mentorship in career and life skills. This program helps students build tools for success as they consider post-high school pathways.

how it works

Once a month, students and mentors explore three additional industries and career options. Students work alongside mentors to develop essential tools for success as they explore various post-high school options. This includes preparing resumes, performing mock interviews, and understanding critical life skills needed for any career pathway. This broad exposure to mentors, jobs, and careers helps students see how their school subjects connect to future career possibilities.

WHY IT MATTERS

Beyond group mentorship, Adopt A Class provides 6th - 8th grade students with trips to 2-year and 4-year colleges, trade schools, military, and first responder events. Campus visits include Gateway Community and Technical College, Enzweiler Building Institute, Northern Kentucky University, Cincinnati State, Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati. Additionally, Adopt A Class hosts an annual "Heroes Day" at Lunken Airport, bringing together representatives from all military branches and local first responders to illustrate diverse post-high school career possibilities. This comprehensive approach prepares students for a successful future.
