Adopt A Class uses an innovative, three-tiered model, offering grade-specific, career-connected group mentorship and experiences. Here's how you can make a difference at each stage:
Spark (K-2): Career Curiosity Leveraging Literacy
For kindergarten through 2nd graders, you'll introduce careers through literacy-based mentoring. Each visit, you'll use specially selected books to explore professions, lead hands-on activities that develop career concepts and build skills like listening, teamwork, and critical thinking. This crucial foundation ignites curiosity about the future.
Ignite (3-5): Interest in STEAM Careers and Beyond
As an Ignite mentor, you'll guide 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) exploration. Once a month, your team will lead engaging, project-based activities—like engineering towers or designing commercials—linking them directly to STEAM careers within your industry. Students will explore unique industries, envisioning their own futures.
Launch (6-8): Pathways to Career Success
In our Launch program, you'll provide continued industry-specific mentorship to 6th through 8th graders. Through monthly sessions, you'll help students develop essential tools for post-high school pathways. This includes preparing resumes, conducting mock interviews, creating career vision boards, and understanding vital life skills needed for any career. This broad exposure helps students connect school subjects to future possibilities.

Monthly Visits: Mentor a class of approximately 25 students one hour once a month in their classroom.
Small Groups: Work with students in a 1 to 4 mentor-to-student ratio.
Career-Focused Activities: Develop career-focused activities or utilize Adopt A Class's existing curriculum.
Field Trip Planning: Plan an industry-related field trip for your adopted class.
Support: Your team supports your class by donating time, activity supplies, and snacks.
